Bill of Rights for People with Learning Disabilities

In November 2016 members of the 'Can you understand it!' team from Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust held a conference. This event was attended by people from Advocacy for All, Bexley Mencap and Research.Net among others. The participants spent some time considering what rights they have and were asked to pick the top ten points from their list. Earlier this year the 'Can you understand it!' team met and pulled the list of 'Bill or Rights' which is published above.

The team were so proud of the work done  by everyone at conference and are pleased to be promoting this vital publication . Implementing these 'Bill of Rights' will have a positive impact on the lives of people with learning disabilities. The team are planning a strategy to widely share this publication across all the teams run by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and other local organisations in south east London.

If you read this 'Bill of Rights' and agree with what is written please share this with family, friends and colleagues. Standing up for the rights of people with learning disabilities are everybody's business!
