I have been asked by my personal tutor to write a blog about my experience at the LEN Event last week for LDNurse.com
I attended the Lived Experience Network last week at Swansea University during LD Awareness week 2017. The event gave me an insight of the importance of involving patients and service users in working with student nurses.
There were many guest speakers who spoke about how they work together with patients in order to improve students' knowledge and skills.
For this event I developed a poster presentation about the importance of service user involvement in a student nurses learning experience and the work of 'TRAC' and how they help student nurses at the University of South Wales. My poster was one of many other posters at the event as there was a competition for the best ones.
At the end of the event the posters were judged and I was very happy that I came 3rd place in the competition for my poster and was awarded with £20 of shopping vouchers.
This was a good day out and it was made extra special by my winnings and the fact that it was LD Awareness week 2017.
